Many Minds – (The) Oddness Gracious (of) Me and Thermo-Nuclear War (Post Apocalypse Version)
The dubstep trio Many Minds kicked things off for us back in 2011, with the Pre-Apocalypse version of Thermo-Nuclear War, a free download and taster for their debut single Vipers which came out later that year. The Post-Apocalypse version was created around the same time but remained in the vaults of Dan DNA’s studio, The Sound Bunker, until now. This is the dusty dancehall riposte to the dark foreboding of the pre-apocalypse version, the first tune to be played when the survivors of the nuclear Armageddon emerge blinking into the sunlight and realise total global annihilation may not have been such a bad thing after all. (The) Oddness Gracious of Me, another old Many Minds tune, has had the remix treatment from original member DanDNA’s new outfit 2Fam. Alongside his partner, bass alchemist Gennaro, they’ve taken its dubstep roots, infused it with a soulful hip-hop vibe and turned it into something deeply original, melodic and menacing at the same time.
